DON'T MISS IT! The annual "Artistry in Wood" woodcarving show will be at the Crystal Falls Banquet Hall in New London, WI on April 30, 2017.
NEW EXHIBIT! The John Michael Kohler Arts Center, 608 New York Avenue, Sheboygan, WI 53081 currently has an exhibition of Wisconsin artists Levi Fisher Ames of Madison (1843-1923) and Albert Zahn of Door County (1864-1953). These two artists carved animals out of wood to impart allegories and create wondrous worlds that were both imaginary and instructive. The exhibition is on view through May 21, 2017. UPCOMING CLASS! There are still four openings for the Rich Wetherbee Caricature Carving Seminar on Wednesday and Thursday, May 10 and 11, 2017. The class is scheduled from 8 am to 4 pm at St. Bernadette Church, Thompson Center @ Lourdes, 2331 E. Lourdes Drive, Appleton, WI 54915. There is a class fee of $150 per person, and rough outs range in price from $15-$25. Meals are not included. Please bring hand tools and a bench knife. NEW SHOW IN 2017! The Wisconsin Waterfowl Association invites you to the 1st Annual Decoy Carving Contest & Exhibition. It is scheduled for Saturday, September 16, 2017 and will be held from 9:30 am-4:00 pm in the Laird Room of Dreyfus Center at UW-Stevens Point, 1015 Reserve St, Stevens Point, WI. Admission is a $5.00 donation, and children under 17 are free. The show flyer can be downloaded below.

Meetings start at 1:30 p.m. A Board Meeting is held at 12:30 p.m. Regular meetings for 2016-17 are scheduled on October 2, 2016, November 6, 2016, January 8, 2017, February 5, 2017, March 5, 2017, April 2, 2017, and May 7, 2017. A potluck dinner is usually held in December.

The Dayton Carvers Guild "36th Annual Artistry in Wood Show" is scheduled for October 14 and 15, 2017 at Roberts Centre, 123 Gano Road, Wilmington OH 45177. More information about this club can be found on the club website.
